The Leupold VX-5HD 3-15x44 Illuminated CDS-ZL2 Rifle Scope is built for the hunt with a FireDot illuminated reticle that provides bright, red-dot like performance during the day and easy one-button intensity adjustment. Combining a High Definition optical system and the Twilight Max Light Management system, these Rifle Scopes by Leupold provide hunters with a distinct advantage at dawn and dusk due to sharpened clarity and superior low-light performance. The Leupold VX-5HD 3-15x MST Rifle Scope has a specialized Custom Dial ZeroLock 2 (CDS-ZL2) elevation dial that locks in place so you won't accidentally rotate off zero, and with a quick button press you can dial up the elevation by two turns. Every CDS model scope comes with a standard MOA or MIL dial right out of the box, so it's not a custom dial yet. To get yours, enter your ballistic information that can usually be found on your ammo box or the manufacturer's website and some of the environmental conditions where you'll be shooting the most, and we will laser-etch a new elevation dial to match. Once you receive the new dial in the mail, swap out the standard MOA or MIL dial, and you're good to go. The Custom Dial System® (CDS) ensures your scope is now perfectly tuned to the ballistics of your rifle.

Guard-Ion Rain Shedding Coating is a water, dirt and fingerprint shedding lens coating. Extremely durable and scratch resistant.
Lead Free glass lenses. In addition to superior optics, the lenses are produced with none of the environmentally damaging by-products common to standard glass production. Look for extremely vivid color, life-like clarity, and higher overall performance thanks to the calcium-fluoride lenses. Another advantage of these non-lead based lenses is that they're lighter in weight.
MST (Motion Sensor Technology): a single touch of the button or twist of the dial activates the illumination. The reticle will automatically switch to stand-by mode after 5 minutes of inactivity, then reactivate whenever the rifle is moved. Red colors are also maximized, since they dominate scenes in typical hunting situations and finally the balancing colors to develop the highest possible contrast. Glare is controlled with special mechanical structures. The end result, you can see antler tines in dark shadows long after the competition has gone home.
