Nosler Trophy Grade .280 Remington Ackley Improved 150 Grain AccuBond Long Range Brass Cased Centerfire Rifle Ammunition
The .280 Ackley Improved, or as some call it the .280 Nosler, is a special round. It was decades ahead of its time when it was created by famed gunsmith PO Ackley. The wildcat cartridge developer figured out if he modified the .280 Remington by giving the casing a steep 40-degree shoulder the cartridge would perform just as well as the slightly larger 7mm yet burn less powder. Jump ahead to 2007, Nosler made the popular wildcat round official.
This Trophy Grade Nosler .280 Ackley Improved ammo features 150-grain AccuBond Long Range bullets, a line developed to meet an increase in demand for ultra-high velocity Rifle Ammo. Nosler says the bullet was designed to achieve the highest velocity possible for its caliber and weight. For the Nosler .280 Ackley Imp, muzzle velocity measures in at 2,930 fps and then drops down to only 1,705 fps at 800 yards.
